MICROSOFT OFFICE TUTOR: Paste selected Excel cells as a picture in your Word document (2000/2002/2003/2004/2007)
Posted on September 28th, 2009 by Eli Journals
If you need to get some spreadsheet cells into your Word document quickly, and you don’t want them to be editable, try pasting the cells as a picture.
To copy and paste spreadsheet cells as a picture:
- Open your Excel worksheet and select the cells you’d like to copy.
- Hold down the [Shift] key while you select Edit | Copy Picture from the menu bar. Click OK when you see the Copy Picture dialog box.
- Open your Word document and place the insertion point where you’d like to place the spreadsheet cells. Press [Ctrl]V ([command]v in Word 2004) to paste them. Your new cells appear in the Word document, as shown in Figure A.
Adapt for Office 2007
In Excel 2007, you can copy your selected cells as a picture by clicking the Paste button in the Clipboard group of the Home tab. In the resulting menu, choose As Picture | Copy As Picture. Then you can switch to your Word document and use the [Ctrl]V shortcut key to paste the Excel range as a picture in your document.
